When is BOWL & WOK open?
Monday to Thursday from 10:30 to 14:00 and from 17:30 to 22:00. Friday from 10:30 to 14:30 and from 17:00 to 22:00. Saturday from 11:00 to 14:30 and from 17:00 to 21:00. Sunday from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00. The restaurant is closed on public holidays.
What is there for lunch?
Monday to Friday from 10:30 there is a lunch menu with daily changing Vietnamese specialities, bowls and wok dishes. There is also a daily lunch menu at CHF 18.50 to 19.50, served with brown rice and wok vegetables.
Are there vegetarian and vegan dishes?
Yes. Vegan options include the green curry with tofu, the lentil masala curry and the pad thai noodles at CHF 22.50. Vegetarian options include spring and summer rolls, papaya salad, spicy aubergine and bánh xèo. Every dish is marked on the menu.
Are there gluten-free dishes?
Several dishes on the lunch menu are marked gluten-free, including beef rendang, butter chicken, fish red curry and the lentil masala curry. Please mention it to our staff when ordering.
Do I need to book a table?
At lunchtime and in the evening the restaurant is often full. Booking is recommended and possible online around the clock or by phone on 044 202 64 77. For groups of eight or more, please call.
Is there takeaway and delivery?
Takeaway is available throughout opening hours; ordering ahead by phone shortens the wait. Deliveries run via Just Eat and Uber Eats. The delivery area depends on the provider.
Does BOWL & WOK do catering?
Yes. Bowls and wok dishes are delivered for company events, meetings and private celebrations. Quantity, spice level and vegetarian share by arrangement. Enquiries to info@bowlandwok.ch or by phone.
Where can I park nearby?
In the underground car park at the Coop on Uetlibergstrasse, a few steps from the restaurant. By public transport, Kalkbreite and Wiedikon station are the nearest stops.
Is there outdoor seating?
In the summer months we also serve in the courtyard. Outdoor seats can only be booked by phone, because they depend on the weather.
How long has BOWL & WOK existed in this form?
The restaurant reopened on 19 January 2026 under Iyathurai Subaskaran. The kitchen is Vietnamese-rooted and extended by curries from Thailand, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.
How spicy are the dishes?
Dishes with noticeable heat are marked “scharf” on the menu. We work with three levels: mild without chilli, medium with noticeable heat, and hot the way it is served in Vietnam and Thailand. Just tell us which level you would like when you order.
Can I pay by card or Twint?
Yes. We accept Twint, cash and credit cards – in the restaurant and for takeaway.
